This puzzle is a mashup of several puzzles from a previous hunt, “Puzzle Parcel” by GhostSalt (“Phantasm” hinting at Ghost and “Delivery” at Parcel). Each section combines the mechanics of two or more puzzles to extract a few letters.
Section I: Sentences
The sentences are warning labels similar to those in Warnings (solution), hinting at modules.
Then, each pair of modules (one left-aligned, one right-aligned) should be treated similarly to how Start and Finish (solution) works: there is one module that was published chronologically in between the two.
Converting the hand signs into decimal, we can find the number/color combinations in Binary LEDs.
We can now apply the mechanic from Grand Speeches (solution) to associate A/B/C/D with directions (A = right, B = down, C = left, D = up) and follow a path through the Binary LEDs manual.
We then notice that some locations are indicated as “?????” and some as “*****”. Just as in Blankety Blank (solution), we extract the ones with asterisks.
The numbers indicated by asterisks are 13, 15, 22, giving us MOV.
Extracting the squares with question marks from left to right (since there’s one per column) yields 101010.
Similar to Puzzling Grids (solution), we can look that binary up in the Binary Grid manual and then overlay the 5×5 bitmap with the given 5×5 grid of letters, yielding YBMNOG.
This reminds us of The CRT TV (solution), which wants us to basically play Color Decoding, but this time we are directly given the information we need to look for:
YBM = Yellow, Blue, Magenta = column 2 = I
NOG = no Green = row 6 = E
Putting it all together
The extracted letters spell the clue phrase MURRON MOVIE. Murron is the name of the wife of William Wallace in the movie Braveheart.
